They have been carrying out surfacing and civil engineering works throughout the South East for over 40 years and offer a full range of surfaces laid to high standards on time, every time.They are a successful business whose fully trained workforce backed up with high quality plant, are the key to their success, giving them the flexibility to carry out a wide range of services from basic maintenance to large construction projects.They specialise in construction, resurfacing and maintenance of roads, car parks and driveways mainly in tarmacadam, concrete and block paving. They have a large customer base and a trusted reputation which often awards them repeat business. The contracts can range from single day jobs to those spanning several weeks.They currently have a vacancy for a Contracts Manager to join their civil engineering company.About the Road Surfacing Contracts Manager Role:The Contracts Manager will be responsible for managing four, three person gangs on a day to day basis. This will include the following:

  • Programming work and liaising with customers.
  • Visiting sites prior to work commencing with the Foreman and overseeing the work.
  • Ordering all equipment and materials for each job.
  • Ensure operatives time is managed effectively, at the beginning and end of the day.
  • Managing operative attendance and planning for annual leave.
  • Supervise subcontractors.
  • Produce Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Ensuring Health, Safety and Environment compliance is maintained.
  • Looking at areas of improvement on site and within the office.
  • Promptly deal with any customer complaints.
    • About the Successful Road Surfacing Contracts Manager Candidate:
  • Experience within a similar role.
  • Able to lead a team.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Able to use initiative.
  • Computer literate.
  • Hold current CSCS Card and Streetworks Supervisor Card would be desirable.
  • Full UK Driving Licence essential.
