Job Description

Paediatric Occupational TherapistLocation: Horsham, West SussexSalary: £30k to £44kOur client, a Private Children’s Occupational Therapy Practice are currently recruiting for a Paediatric Occupational Therapist with post-graduate training in Sensory Integration to join their growing team.The position is based at their new studio in Horsham which comprises of a staff office and kitchen, 2 specialist sensory integration rooms (and a 3rd in development), family/meeting room and messy play kitchen.Our client provides therapy for clients between the ages of 0 and 16 years old with the majority of the clients being under 12 years.A high proportion of families have a child with sensory processing difficulties; ASD, ADHD, PDA, Genetic Disorders, Down Syndrome, Dyspraxia/DCD, or Early Developmental Trauma. Children do not require a diagnosis to receive support from their team, support is based on need.Staff will be expected to see children with a range of needs, though will also be supported to pursue areas of interest.The Paediatric Occupational Therapist joining their team will be self-motived, have a problem solving approach to working and be able to work well as part of a team. They will value each unique family unit and understand that a key part of a Paediatric Occupational therapist’s role is to maximise on a family’s strengths and wealth of knowledge to facilitate them to support their child.The role will be tailored to you to maximise on the skills you bring to the team and where you see your career heading. It could include:- One to one sessions at the studio- Assessments- Supporting/Leading an integrated school provision in a local school- Group sessions including collaboration with local charities- Drop in support sessions- One to one sessions in school- Occupational Therapy and Sensory diet programmes- Staff training and staff/family coaching- MDT workingBenefits of the role:· A supportive, forward-thinking therapy and admin team - they have a collaborative ideas wall and regular team meetings to work on ideas that have been identified.· A family feel, nurturing ethos;· Office/therapy space set in a comfortable scenic location;· An established, multi-professional network of associates who you can link in with for multi-disciplinary working;· High-quality resources to carry out your role;· Regular supervision;· Training courses guided by your agreed CPD and PDP plan· Company Pension Scheme;· Company laptop.· On-site parking- Private medical insurance after 6 monthsEssential Criteria:· Qualified Paediatric Occupational Therapist;· Current Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC);· Have completed or are due to complete a post Graduate Certificate in Sensory Integration (SIE Modules 1-3) or ASIWise Modules 1-4 (ICEASI Level 2) or equivalent. · Have at least 2 years prior experience working as a Paediatric OccupationalTherapist;· Comprehensive knowledge of common childhood developmental disorders;· Driver (there are no public transport links to the office and community visits will be an essential part of the role)- Good spoken and written English skills· Valid DBSDesirable Criteria:· Experience working with children who have experienced developmental trauma and any post graduate training to become a trauma informed therapist.· Experience providing staff training or parent workshops;· Experience in preparing bespoke therapy programmes (e.g. skills-based programmes or sensory diets);· Experience working with children with Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and genetic disorders.Part time / Full time opportunitiesHours of work are not currently set but would fall between the hours of 8.30am and 6.30pm Monday to Friday and between 8.30am and 4.30pm on a Saturday (Saturday working is available, but not essential).Keywords: Paediatric Occupational Therapist, Lead Paediatric Occupational Therapist, Paediatric Occupational Therapist, Children’s Occupational Therapist, Paediatric OT/SI therapist, Specialist Rotational Paediatric Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Paediatrics, Occupational Therapist, Private paediatric Occupational Therapist, Paediatric Occupational Therapist, Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist, Paediatric OT,Right & Square Recruitment is an employment agency and employment business Required skills
