Job Description

Working for IT EngineSet up in 2018 with the mission to deliver better and faster IT Support services to businesses across Sussex, Surrey, Kent and London. What will I be doing as an apprentice This opportunity will allow you to develop, through study and "on the job" experience, the knowledge, and skills necessary to be a valuable IT Technician Apprentice and in doing so support our efforts to deliver an outstanding IT support service.Throughout your apprenticeship you will have the opportunity to get stuck into various aspects the job to fully immerse yourself in what it means to be an IT Technician Apprentice. Duties include:
  • Answering the phone to customers and ensuring customer tickets are responded to promptly.
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software issues using basic tools.
  • Happy to travel and work at customers locations (supervision, travel & subsistence provided).
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise ExperienceWhilst previous experience is great, we at Tiro are always open to wildcards. Were not just interested in experience and qualifications; were looking for someone with the right attitude and aptitude to fit right in at IT Engine.QualificationsIts about enthusiasm, not school results. In our experience the most successful apprentices are those who are driven to find out more about the sector, can be up front about what they do and dont already know, are considerate, self-reflective, and impatientto learn the job role!About YouWere looking for someone who is driven and determined to get what they want. Youll need to show you can be thorough, obsessive and have strong attention to detail and observational skills.Youll have a naturally enquiring mind and be digitally savvy. Were looking for someone whose fearless and loves being part of a team. Youll be brave enough to be yourself with enough self-confidence to speak to customers and come up with quick solutionsto fix the problem in hand.To succeed in this apprenticeship, youll need bags of enthusiasm, be a fantastic collaborator and be hungry to learn!Even if this doesnt sound quite like you, but you still think you could do a great job in the role, get in touch. So how does the apprenticeship work At Tiro were obsessed with changing lives through science and technology apprenticeships so we cant wait to have you on board.Over 18 months, youll devote a minimum of 6 hours of your working week on off the job training. This can include theory training (for example, virtual lessons & online learning), alongside practical training (for example shadowing, mentoring, & time spentwriting assignments. Together this will count towards a Level 3 Information Communications Technician. Youll be trained by an expert tutor from Tiro as well as an experienced mentor at IT Engine who together, will make sure you develop the knowledge, skills,and work habits youll need to succeed in your career.Being an apprentice is hands-on, so youll get the chance to learn things you might otherwise not have experienced in a university or college environment.The best part Youll be earning a salary while you gain your qualifications, meaning no huge student loans to pay back at the end of the programme!
