We’re taking part in a trial of the 4-Day Working Week, meaning that you could be working one dayless a week (or equivalent).4DWW will be rolled out within our school, when we have a full complement of staff, and within the next year – so there’s never been a more exciting time to join us #teamOFG!Job Title: Family Liaison OfficerLocation: Manor House School, Slinfold, HorshamSalary: Up to £30,000 per annumHours:40 hours per week,Monday to FridayContract: Permanent, Term Time onlyUK applicants only.As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for aFamily Liaison Officerto join our close-knit team at Manor House School.About the roleAs Family Liaison Officer you will engage with vulnerable families in order to formulate a package of support. To act as a point of contact in school for families in need of support.Signposting for families and refer for support when appropriate and liaise professionally with external agencies such as Housing, NSPCC, Sure Start, Social Care, Early Intervention Teams, Passenger Transport, YOS and Police.To complete appropriate referral forms to external agencies as and when requiredand attend multi-agency meetings as appropriate, carry out home visits where necessaryand to provide opportunities for families to engage with the school and build relationshipsbefore the pupil starts at the school.To maintain record keeping in accordance with the policies and procedures in place in school, including case studies and act as the CME (pupil missing from education) Lead and ensure systems are robust and utilised effectively. Including creating plans tosupport vulnerable students or those who are regularly missing, absent or late. You will act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead for the school and ensure all training is kept current and valid.Specific duties

  • Establish good working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
  • Provide consistent support to all pupils, responding appropriately to individual pupil needs
  • Assist with the development and implementation of EHCPs and WBSPs
  • Promote inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
  • Promote self-esteem and independence, employing strategies to recognise and reward achievement within established school procedure
  • Use specialist (curricular/learning) skills/training/experience to support pupils
  • Assist in the administering of routine and emergency medication
  • Key tasks to support staff
  • Support the SMT in identifying patterns of absences and implementing structures to improve attendance
Qualifications required
  • GCSE - A - C Maths and English
