Job Description

Job Title: Fabricator / WelderLocation: Horsham outskirts (own transport essential)Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am - 5pm, Friday 8am - 3pmSalary: £28000 - £35000 Depending on ExperienceBenefits: Parking, Pension, HolidayTravail Employment Group is delighted to be working exclusively with our wonderful client, a leading vehicle conversion specialist in their search for a Fabricator / Welder to join their team.In this role you will be responsible for the removal of structural framework, measuring, producing, and installing replacement structural framework, installing prefabricated door frames, and producing any additional metal work required to complete each conversion.Due to the location of this role own transport is essential.Experience Required

  • Steel box and sheet metal fabrication working to tight tolerances.
  • MIG welding experience on thin gauge material.
  • Working to technical drawings and taking own measurements to produce parts.
Responsibilities
  • Removing structural framework from both the sidewall and floor of each coach using various cutting/grinding equipment.
  • Taking accurate measurements and producing supporting floor frame using steel box section to install wheelchair mounting equipment.
  • Producing mounting frame for wheelchair lifts using steel box section and angle.
  • Installing prefabricated steel door frames into vehicle sidewalls and stitch welding vehicle skins avoiding any warping to mating panels.
  • Cutting required materials to size using the band saw.
  • Operating box folder, hydraulic steel worker and guillotine as required.
  • Adhering to all health and safety guidelines.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and tidy workspace at all times.

  • Have own hand tools
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • Ability to follow technical drawings.
  • Attention to detail and good communication skills.
