The role of the commodity manager will be to negotiate and co-ordinate the timely and cost effective supply of PCBAs and support services to the point of need, ensuring that company cost and performance targets are achieved.Liaising with Engineering, Planning, Sales and Manufacturing disciplines.Location - Near HorshamSalary - up to £46k plus benefitsThe roles and responsibilities of this role will be to -Develop strategic and long term supply relationships with key vendors employing Supply Chain Management techniques to ensure the timely and cost effective supply of assemblies and components and support services, to the point of need, thereby ensuring thatcompany cost and performance targets are achieved.Work closely with Engineering on requirements for new assemblies, contributing cost effective components and competent sources of supply for the given requirement.Ensuring deliveries are consolidated where appropriate to maximise use of each delivery vehicle, this not only reduces cost but also reduces the impact on the environment.Negotiating cost and lead time reductions on bespoke and proprietary components.Ensuring vendors of critical assemblies and components are fully aware of the Supplier Score Card processCompleting daily MRP output, with full consideration given to maximising delivery schedule.The ideal candidate for this role will have -Thorough understanding of computerised manufacturing systems (MRP, ERP, MPS)Experience in modern supply methods including KANBAN proficiencyAbility to detect processes, products or performance defects and implement corrective actionPreparation of supply chain agreementsStrong negotiation skillsA good team player with hands on approach
