Job Description

  • Up to £35,000 depending on experience.Organisation DescriptionOur client is a niche specialist defence communications company based near Gatwick.Their specialist area of expertise lies within C4IS portfolio including hearing protection, communication headsets and radio communication devices, while their ISTAR capabilities include signals intelligence and electronic warfare systems, and UAV and counter-UAV technologies.As a result of securing a new £15 million MOD contract, and with further prospects on the horizon, the business are looking to expand their Project Management Team by hiring a new Project Support Officer.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Project Support Officer to provide assistance to a number of Project Managers.The successful candidate shall provide Project Managers with highly-organised, dynamic approach supporting a range of projects for the MOD and other customers.Our client is providing communications expertise; designing, building, maintaining and repairing a range of specialist equipment for the Armed Forces and Emergency Services.As a Project Support Officer, you won’t only perform routine administrative duties like minute taking – rather, your responsibilities will be inextricably tied to the success of the projects you are working on. Every project is different and therefore your duties will change accordingly. However, for the most part, you will be responsible for monitoring project schedules and budgets, preparing progress reports, liaising with key stakeholders and conducting day-to-day management of some Support Contracts.As the project manager’s assistant you will play an important role in project planning and risk and issue management. Moreover, you will log, manage and analyse information on the progress of the project, using Excel and other bespoke databases.Travel to Bristol once or twice a month may be required to meet business demands; expenses will be paid.Benefits Package
  • Our client offers an Employer’s Pension Scheme to all employees. A maximum 5% employer contribution providing employee pays 5%. You may contribute more or less than this but there are upper and lower limits of contribution.
  • A discretionary annual bonus is paid to all staff in April. The amount is determined by a combination of personal performance and company profit for the year.
  • Employees are covered on the company private health scheme currently operated by Aviva. They can pay for family members to be added to the scheme.
  • Our client has a training budget and will support Continuing Professional Development where possible.
  • Our Client will be providing the successful candidate SC Sponsorship.
  • A Security Check (SC or SC Cleared) is required for people who have substantial access to SECRET or occasional controlled access to SECRET assets and determines that their character and personal circumstances would not mean they would be a risk with such assets.
