Job Description

Only candidates who are fully vaccinated prior to their start date or medically exempt from vaccinations can work within our care homes. This is a legal requirement set out in the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations2014.The starting salary for this role is £9.60 per hour.Barnfield is a purpose built residential home for the elderly, situated close to the town centre and public transport links in Horley and close to Gatwick airport. Barnfield does have onsite free parking. We provide 24 hour residential care to 63 residents.We have a well established team here at Barnfield led by a manager and deputy and various departments including care team, catering team, housekeeping team.The home was rated good in our last Care Quality Commission(CQC) inspection and has excellent links with the local community.We provide person centred, holistic care and meet the personal, practical, social and emotional needs of our residents, with a view to creating a supportive and homely atmosphere where residents can achieve their maximum independence, and be involved indecision making.In this role you will need to keep up to date accurate and legible records including completion of daily notes and care plans and undertake all duties in accordance with company policies, procedures and practise including health and safety at work.You will develop yourskills and knowledge of care by attending and participating in supervisions, monitoring meetings and training courses. Youwill promote residentsrights, choices and dignity and undertake any duties as directed by yourline manager.Excellentcommunication and observational skills are essential, as isthe ability to work well as part of a team, a positive, friendly and proactive attitude and the ability to be flexible and adaptable in order to meet the needs and choices of our residents.Experience is not required as full training will be given to successful candidates.At Surrey, our values and behaviours are just as important as our skills and abilities.
