Job Description

Bid Writer, Horley, to £50kFast growing,technology-based business who are a market leader in providing Energy Data and Services to help companies manage their energy better, are seeking a Permanent Bid Writer to jo in them. This is an exciting opportunity to join a company with aproven track record for constant innovation. You will be working for their wholly owned Smart Metering subsidary, who deliver market leading Metering Services nationwide.You will be joining and passionate and friendly team, working on a hybrid basis based from their offices in Horley, Surrey. The hours are 37 hours a week, you will be within commuting distance of Horley.There is a good social scene, employees work hard but a lot of effort is put into the fun stuff! .Responsibilities of the Bid Writer will include:-

  • Drive, lead and own the production of best-in-class bids and proposals for the Group.
  • Understand bid timelines and develop bid plans and teams to meet the relevant milestones on timeand steer the team to successful completion.
  • Develop proposal templates and responses for complex RFPs to increase the efficiency and consistencyof submissions and positioning as the UKs energy champion.
  • Be the main point of contact internally and externally for all questions regarding the status of RFI/RFPsincluding clarifications from the customer.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities of the Bid Writer:-Business Development and Strategy:
  • Understand the structure of RFPs and their scoring criteria to maximise score and probability of success for each submission.
  • Continuously evolve and raise the standard and quality of bids to increase bid win ratio.
  • Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders and subject matter experts across the Group that will help form market leading responses to RFI/RFPs.
  • Develop a suite of bid reporting and work with internal stakeholders to enhance their future positioning through win/loss/market/competitor insights.
  • Develop a knowledge bank of bid material, evidence and responses to facilitate strategic development of quality and timely responses.

  • Solid experience in tender proposal planning, writing, review and delivery.
  • A track record of winning proposals within highly competitive markets.
  • Strong corporate strategic and technical writing experience.
  • Ability to develop a close working relationship with key company stakeholders.
  • Ability to gather and co-ordinate data from subject matter experts.
  • Ability to work autonomously under pressure to meet short deadlines.
  • Drafting and writing bid submission responses using persuasive and positive language.
