Job Description

Location: HorleySalary: £19.4k - £23.0k (dependent on skills & qualifications)Reference: REQ1427THE ROLEWere looking for an Asset Records Assistant to join our Asset Records Team, based from our head office in Horley. Reporting to one of the Asset Officers, this position plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of Network Transmission/Distributionactivities.Day to day duties include the input and preservation of maintained asset records, scheduling and completion of maintenance inspections, and reporting including repairs and replacements across many areas in line with company policy and procedure and variouskey legislative requirements.You will need to have or be able to develop a basic understanding of how operational gas assets and systems work to interpret various formats of asset data including drawings and symbology.Key responsibilities will include;

  • Inputting and upkeeping of maintained asset records
  • Liaising with Asset and Maintenance Managers and Engineers
  • Creating and realigning maintenance work schedules in line with company policies and procedures
  • Retrieval of various Asset records
  • Supporting with other Asset Management and Gas Control activities

Were open to different backgrounds and skillsets, as long as you have (or are happy to quickly develop) a basic understanding of gas engineering principlesand asset architecture.Were also looking for:
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, managers, and customers both within SGN and other external parties
  • Computer literate, ideally being competent and experienced in the use of Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of SQL would be an advantage, but is not essential
  • Comfortable dealing with large datasets
