Job Description

Support worker for a supported living serviceStart Date: ASAPHours: 7am-2pm, 2pm-10pm and 10pm-7am sleep in.Rates: Between £9.51 and £12.65 per hour PAYELocation: MildenhallAbout the role:Opus are looking for candidates who can work with a particular service user in her own home. She is supported 2-1, and does have some challenging behaviours. There is a good behaviour strategy in place and this is currently working very well.I am looking for candidates who can drive due to the location, and the service user has a vehicle that she can be taken out in.Supporting someone with a learning disability isnt just personal care. Its so much more. A support Worker could be taking the people supported out on shopping trips, days out, visiting social clubs and trips to the beach. They could support with day-to-dayactivities such as cooking and actively seek to introduce new choices.Ideally you will hold a Level 2 Health and Social Care Diploma. Youll need to have great communication skills and be comfortable making decisions. A basic level of English and Math is also required. You must be flexible and able to work a variety of shiftsincluding long days and sleep ins. Due to location driving is essential.Key Objectives:

  • To provide prompts for personal care, in accordance with the agreed care plan and the appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Ensure clear, concise and accurate records are kept of all care and support provided.
  • Other duties to be undertaken include may include tasks such as simple cleaning tasks, making meals, assisting the resident to eat.
  • To focus on the dignity & respect of the service user and in partnership with other agencies to provide an excellent person centred, individualised service.
  • To liaise with seniors/managers regarding any concerns you may have regarding the resident.
  • Work within a team environment providing excellent care and support.
