Job Description

CK Science are recruiting for a Quality Control Technician to join a coatings manufacturing company that supply to the automotive industry at their site based in Chesterfield, on a full time permanent basis.The Company:Our client is ISO9001 and 14001 accredited, as well as being compliant with more specific industry standards. The manufacturing facility is one of the companys multiple sites and comprises production, quality control, distribution and customer services departments. Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, the successful candidate will take responsibility for all QC functions with the aim to achieve company growth and high profitability through total awareness, involvement, teamwork, constant improvement and training. This person will be part of the QC Department and will carry out routine testing of manufactured batches to very tight deadlines. You will be required to work accurately with high speed, and efficiency is essential to avoid problems or delays to customers. The company offers a salary depending on experience, as well as 25 days holiday + bank holidays, pension scheme, death in service, workinghours of 8am - 4pm, and on site parking.Location:This Analytical Technician role is located in Chesterfield which is easily commutable from surrounding locations including Sheffield, Derby, Nottingham, Mansfield, Worksop, Bakewell etc.QC Technician role:Your main duties will be:- Testing of paint samples from production batches/ raw materials including the preparation and testing of samples to appropriate control plans for each batch, recording results at all times, and maintaining the quality of incoming raw materials at all times by testing deliveries according to procedures- Ensuring the quality of every batch is high as possible to comply with customers specifications by following testing methods but always looking of ways to improve them- Recording of test results - entering all the information and retaining samples or plaques of the different batches- Problem solving by investigating and solving problems by prompt and timely liaison with relevant personnel- Investigation and resolution of customer problems/ complaints- Maintenance of equipment including cleaning, tidying and calibrating the equipment used in QC to ensure highest level of maintenance- Provisioning the lab - assisting with obtaining materials necessary to keep the lab functioning- Produce department statisticsYour Background:The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:- Previous experience in a quality control environment - essential- Knowledge and experience of basic coatings technology strongly preferred- The job holder will hold numeracy and literacy qualificationsEntitlement to work in the UK is essential.
