Job Description

FujichemSonneborn (FCS) was founded in 1899. They have over 100 years of experience in the chemistry and application of coating technologies, and sell to over 200 manufacturers in more than 30 countries worldwide. As a member of the FujikuraKasei Global Network (FGN) of companies, working closely with affiliated partners FujikuraKasei (Japan) and Red Spot (USA) to support global business requirements. FCS operate from the UK, and manufacture and export Thermal, UV, PVD and Dual Cure coating technologies to fulfil specific market needs in over 30 countries. FCS products are used in the automotive, cosmetics packaging, kitchen and furniture markets. With a first-class Research and Development Centre in Essex and with manufacturing facilities in Derbyshire, we also have service and distribution facilities in France and Germany.We currently have a vacancy for a Manufacturing Technician based at our Chesterfield Site.The Role: The purpose of this position is to manufacture products to the highest possible standard, ensuring the correct raw materials are used while following required instructions to produce the best possible quality of product as efficiently as possible.

  • Knowledge and application of technical skills to operate machinery safely and effectively in order to meet the production plan. You will control production, executing series of routine tasks: quality checks, standard cleaning, line changeovers & minor autonomous maintenance.
  • Identify opportunities and ideas to reduce cost and improve quality and productivity of the manufacturing processes that are being developed.
  • Ensure the work area is clean, tidy and orderly at all times in line with brand expectations and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
    • Preferred Knowledge / Skills / Qualifications / Experience:The ideal attributes we are looking for are:
  • Computer literacy / IT skills (MS Word & Excel).
  • GCSE level or above or equivalent.
  • Experience of working within manufacturing environment.
  • Good communication skills, hands on approach and good team player.
  • Willingness to adopt a flexible working attitude.
  • Knowledge of basic health and safety standards.
    • Qualifications and experience achieved within the paint or coatings industry would be an advantage.**Please note that training will be offered to the right candidate providing they show a positive working attitude during their interview.**Personal attributes:Our ideal candidate will work collaboratively with the team and be confident enough to work autonomously.   • Salary £17,600.
