Job Title: Manufacturing EngineerSector: Aerospace, Manufacturing & EngineeringSalary: £38,000.00 - £50,000.00 + BenefitsLocation: Sheffield, South YorkshireContract: Full-Time / PermanentVerus Recruitment are currently seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer (ME) to join their clients dynamic engineering team specialising in Aerospace manufacturing.As our clients ME, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and shopfloor support to resolve production issues, driving NPI and CI projects, improving processes and products, and achieving business KPIs related to safety, quality, cost, anddelivery.About the job:* Develop, implement, validate, and continuously improve manufacturing methods to meet safety, quality, cost, and lead time requirements.* Create and update controlled documentation and ERP systems (BOM, part routings, SOP, technique sheets).* Support engineering change management process, ensuring assessment, review, communication, implementation, and release are in line with company procedures.* Collaborate with project teams to deliver CI, cost reduction, and margin improvement projects.* Support NPI/industrialisation projects, ensuring timely and high-quality production launches.* Assist in the design, development, and implementation of new tools and fixtures, including tool specifications, supplier selection, design reviews, production trials, and implementation.* Capture, analyse, and utilize data to enhance manufacturing methods capability.* Identify and resolve quality and engineering issues through effective root cause analysis and corrective action.* Support the capital investment (CAPEX) process, including identifying needs, creating business cases, justifying investments, and evaluating ROI for new equipment, machines, and systems.* Collaborate and communicate with operations, quality, commercial, and planning teams to meet customer requests.* Identify and evaluate new technologies to gain a competitive advantage.* Conduct health and safety risk assessments and prompt accident investigations, taking necessary actions to address concerns.About you: * Minimum of 5 years experience in the aero-structure industry, with expertise in metallic detail manufacturing and final assembly.* Considerable experience in at least two of the following areas: general assembly and fabrication, sheet metal forming, CNC machining, heat treatment, welding, and EDM.* Educated to a minimum HNC level in Engineering (Manufacturing/Mechanical/Industrial)* Proficiency in project management and risk management.* Familiarity with problem investigation tools such as PFMEAs, RCA, 8D, and 5 whys.* Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.* Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams is essential; knowledge of MS Project is desirable.* Excellent organizational skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.What would make you stand out * Experience in aerospace manufacturing, FAIR, PPAP, and AS9100* Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and quality tools is a plus.Whats in it for you* A fantastic package with a starting salary of £38,000 - £50,000 p.a DOE.* Working for a fantastic business.* Easy to access location with plenty of free parking.* 37 hours a week with a short day Friday: 8am-4pm Mon-Thurs and 8am-1pm Friday.* 185 hours of holiday to book with the opportunity to buy an additional 37 hours or sell 37 hours every March.* All bank holidays on top of the above.* Christmas closedown where no holiday leave needs to be used - it is paid for on top of holiday entitlement which equates to an additional 3 days holiday.* Free Vend Friday - on hot drinks in the canteen paid for by the company.* A well-equipped Employee Assistance Programme including counseling with up to 2 rounds of 6 personal sessions a year.* YuLife app to earn coins for every step/cycling/meditation minute you complete in a day which turns into vouchers for Amazon/all major supermarkets/Halfords/Argos/ASOS/IKEA/B&Q at the touch of a button.* 5% company contribution Pension (with the opportunity to match or contribute more if you want)* Access to a GP 24/7 through our YuLife ap.* Bravo benefit discounts on gym memberships/shopping.* Westfield Health Scheme.* Salary Sacrifice scheme for Electric/Hybrid Cars.* Critical Illness Cover.If you would like more information, please contact our Sheffield team on .Verus Recruitment Partners is an Equal Opportunities Employer and is acting as a Recruitment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
