Job Description

Our client works with emerging, high potential companies located predominantly in the sustainable technology ecosystem. They operate internationally within a broader network of investors, corporates, and innovation funding bodies.They apply a specialist stage-specific skillset to pioneer the commercialisation of new technologies as they seek to navigate the journey from the lab, through initial adoption and growth, to early scale.Role descriptionAs an Engagement Manager, you will work to bring net zero and closed loop solutions to market in the energy & fuels space: bioenergy, energy from waste, hydrogen generation etc.You will work as part of a small and dynamic practice, collaborating closely with the wider Decarbonisation and Circular Economy team of 10, and also with others in the broader business. We will be seeking to address the commercial and strategic challengesassociated with scaling up an emerging technology company.The role will involve executing market and application discovery and validation projects: this is done through desk research and direct engagement with the market (usually via calls), undertaking competitive research, generating and analysing commercialinsights, and making recommendations for strategy options to overcome the challenges clients face.A second key element of the role will be supporting the process of executing commercial deals: distribution partnerships; high value direct sales opportunities; licensing agreements; off-take deals; and investor readiness and fundraising. The work here willbuild upon the preceding commercial strategy work.The role will also involve the identification of new areas of technological interest and innovative technologies in those spaces, including the identification of new potential clients within these technology areas. This will further extend to opening initialdialogues and meetings with potential clients and attending these as part of contributing to winning business.The business arms clients include a leading carbon capture and utilisation (CCU) company, the inventor of the worlds only viable MDF recycling company, and a producer of advanced fuels creating renewable dimethyl ether from waste and paving the way tothe hydrogen economy.As an organisation which is fast-growing and values talent over seniority, you will have the opportunity to take on a significant amount of responsibility quickly, and to see your remuneration developing in line with performance. Our work is fast-paced,ever-evolving, and involves the opportunity to travel, subject to Covid-19 restrictions.RequirementsWe seek exceptional and driven individuals with a strong entrepreneurial streak (e.g. who are willing to back their own talent and have a medium-to-high risk threshold) and who are excited by the challenge of working with and building venture companies inour chosen field.We are looking for someone who:

  • Is preferably a STEM graduate, with up to 2 years professional experience
  • Has an interest in developing and executing the commercial strategy of early-stage businesses
  • Has an aptitude for leadership and management
  • Has a minimum of a 2.i Bachelors degree (or equivalent) from a leading university
  • Is organised, and is good with process management
  • Is a good communicator and comfortable with speaking to many people
  • Is able to work in London and come into the office (Covid restrictions aside)
