Job Description

Operational Finance Manager | Holbeach | £60,000 - £70,000The OpportunityAre you a finance professional who thrives in a manufacturing environment where there is a real passion for optimum performance Do you enjoy getting away from Excel and out into the site operational meetings Are you proud of your ability to link the numbers to the on site messages to provide commercially astute and credible insights Are you someone who loves the daily interaction with colleagues who work in completely different functions to you

  • This role is number 1 in finance on a day to day basis for a complex and high performance manufacturing site in Lincolnshire. You will be a key member of the senior leadership team and be the financial sounding board locally to the GM and operational managers.
  • The role is critical. You’ll be a true business partner in every sense of the phrase and be highly visible, included and appreciated for your input.
  • You’ll already be aware that there are a range of factors that affect optimal performance (and profit!) of a £100m turnover manufacturing site. You’ll play an integral role in identifying the best levers to push and pull to support best practice.
    • You’ll shine a light into variances and the triggers behind them, streams of profit, hotspots of margin erosion, investment plans and ROI assumptions. The reporting and discussions you deliver will play a key role in underpinning the ongoing growth and success of the site.There is lots to do and plenty of autonomy - there is also major scope to progress for the right individual (this is a large scale international group).You will need
  • Previous experience as a qualified finance professional who enjoys business partnering operational teams in a manufacturing environment (food ideally - but if not an business that operates with equivalent fast pace).
  • CIMA / ACCA / ACA qualification.
  • A track record of proactivity and contributing to positive change in a production environment.
  • An ability to shine a clear spotlight on maternal and labour variances, factory performance, capex requirements, product performance, wasteage etc.
  • A measured, enthusiastic and engaging approach to working with non finance colleagues.
  • The gravitas to contribute to senior leadership meetings and the ability to influence change.
