Job Description

Planning ConsultantLocation: Hoddesdon, HertfordshireSalary: £35k - £40k + Excellent BenefitsOur client, a vibrant architectural practice based is seeking a Planning Consultant to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing planning applications and appeals on behalf of clients.Duties:

  • Collate information, drawings, and reports, ensuring they are properly packaged for submission.
  • Prepare and submit planning applications and provide necessary follow-up as required.
  • Provide regular updates to partners, directors, and the wider team, maintaining and updating the planning tracker.
  • Obtain quotations for external consultant services and conduct extensive consultations with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct research and site visits when necessary, assisting in the preparation of information for fee letters.
Requirements:
  • Possess a minimum of 4-5 years of planning experience, preferably in both the Private and Public sectors.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the entire planning process, from inception to completion.
  • Have experience in preparing complex planning applications and handling appeals to the Secretary of State.
  • Ideally, hold an RTPI-accredited Town Planning degree and be MRTPI status (or close to achieving it).
  • Offer planning guidance during the design stage to clients and internal architects.
  • Possess strong IT and presentation skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Familiarity with InDesign and Photoshop is desirable.
