Job Description

Our client is looking to hire a talented Junior Designer to join the Design and Product Development team at the Head Office in Hoddesdon. The primary function of this role is to work on new and existing products by designing and developing technical specifications, range plans and line sheets.Key responsibilities:

  • Work fluidly with the factory manager and the design team on a daily basis, clearly communicating design specifications verbally and in the form of detailed spec packs
  • Amend design specs and Line sheets
  • Responsible for creating and upkeeping specifications on core and new products using Adobe Illustrator
  • Daily support to the design and development team on all projects including collaborations, special projects often in an ad hoc way
  • Responsible for creating and upkeeping a product range plan
  • Assisting on design and development, from initial ideas / concepts in the form of moodboards, colour boards and sketched design ideas
  • To be constantly aware of design costs when designing, to achieve target prices and to understand British manufacturing costs
    • Skills and experience:
  • Ideally with credible experience in a design / fashion background
  • A graduate from product / accessories is a must
  • Efficient with working from a design brief and email communication
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Detailed knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop and Microsoft packages
  • A creative and methodical mind is essential
  • Tasteful handwriting in design
  • A good knowledge of the fashion industry and luxury travel market
