We have a rewarding position available for an English Assistant / EAL Teaching Assistant at our reputable school in Hoddesdon.We are actively seeking a skilled and enthusiastic English Assistant / EAL Teaching Assistant to join our team and make a positive impact on our diverse student population.Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with English as an Additional Language (EAL) in developing their language skills and accessing the curriculum
  • Collaborate with the English department to provide additional support to students with their English language acquisition
  • Assist in planning and delivering engaging English lessons to students of varying abilities
  • Provide one-on-one or small-group support to EAL students to reinforce language skills and foster confidence
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported
  • Liaise with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure the best possible support for EAL students
Requirements:
  • Relevant qualifications or experience as an English Assistant or EAL Teaching Assistant
  • Strong understanding of the English language and effective language acquisition strategies
  • Experience working with students with English as an Additional Language is desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
  • Patient, empathetic, and supportive approach to help students overcome language barriers
  • Passion for supporting students language development and academic success
