Job Description

Client Accountant - Property ManagementFull Time PermanentMonday - Friday 37.5 hours per weekLocation HoddesdonEN110DRSalary: £25,000 - £35,000 DOEResidential Management Group is a large, established, market leading property management company and we are recruiting a Service Charge Accountant to join our Client Accounting team at our Head Office in Hoddesdon.The Service Charge Accountants role is to ensure the timely and accurate operation of the Client Accounts department including preparing or assisting in the preparation of client accounts, liaising with accounts preparation and auditors to assist in theirprocesses. In addition, the Senior Client Accountant will lead on the technical training of new starters and the training and implementation of new processes.The Role of the Client Accountant Property Management:

  • Prepare client accounts.
  • Arrange and liaise with auditors when audits are due/in progress.
  • Process any instructions following external and/or internal agreement between parties i.e. making adjustments.
  • Prepare interim client accounts or associated reporting on client accounts as requested.
  • Ensuring Annual Returns & Tax Returns are filed on an annual basis where required.
  • Attend meetings/Communicate as required with Operational Directors, Heads of Departments, Business Development Managers, Regional/Property Managers, Customer Contact Center, HCL, Clients and others to set-up and/or resolve any new business queries or clientaccount queries.
  • Investigate previous Managing Agents financial transactions and challenge mismanagement of funds when appropriate.
  • Prepare all pertinent data for handover once no longer acting instruction has been received.
  • Meet all Service Level Agreements within stated deadlines.
  • Lead on training of new starters.
  • Lead on training and implementation of new processes.
  • Review, report, and offer suggestions for improvements on current process.
  • Identify where improvements can be made and report to team leader.
  • Analyse, Investigate & Complete VAT returns for VAT elected clients as well as offering advice on relevant legislation at all times to assist with other duties.
  • Responsible for calculations of RTM, RTE & SOF completions statements as well as providing advice to other departments within RMG to ensure compliance and best practice is adhered to.
Skills & Experience of the Client Accountant Property Management:
  • Experience in Property accounting & experience in training/coaching others
  • Medium to advanced user of MS Outlook, MS Excel and MS Word
  • Experience in Analysing Service Charge & Financial data
  • Sound Excel and data manipulation skills
  • Finance qualification.
