Interested Looking for a challenge Do you have demonstrable evidence of an Emergency Care placement or recent/current Emergency Care experience to apply.This is a rewarding but demanding post that requires committed and dedicated nurses to provide quality care to infants, children, young people and their families/carers from a diverse population. We offer all our band 5 nurses the opportunity to undertake a nurse in charge programme, so if you are an experienced nurse looking for more responsibility we will positively support your development.The Children’s Emergency Department at the Hillingdon Hospital is a separate unit based within the main Emergency Department. On average 25% of our Emergency attendances are infants, children and young people. We endeavour to provide the highest possible level of care to them at all times.The department has close links with the paediatric wards, specialist nurses and our community nursing team.A passion for children’s Emergency Care Nursing with proven communication skills, assessment skills, enthusiasm and the ability to be flexible are the qualities that will enable you to fulfil this role. In exchange we train all our nurses in Manchester Triage, venepuncture and cannulation, plaster of paris application and those wishing to progress further will be able to apply for their APLS/EPLS certification.Hillingdon Hospital NHS Trust has a Smoke-Free Policy.
