Job Description

Colorectal Clinical Cancer Support NurseBand 6 Permanent Full time 37.5 hrs per weekThis is an exciting newly created post to continue to develop the Straight to Test Pathway in the Colorectal Surgery Service at the Trust, helping to manage the increasing number of Two Week Wait referrals for the Colorectal Surgery Service.Whilst the focus is on the STT pathway, the post holder will also help to manage patients with suspected cancer within the STT pathway alongside the Macmillan Colorectal CNS The ideal candidate would have the following:

  • Evidence of career progression and development seeking new challenges
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Previous Colorectal Cancer experience
  • Advanced history taking skills; along with skills in assessing co-morbidities, requesting investigations and making clinical decisions within set protocols
  • Excellent ICT skills
  • Genuine enthusiasm, commitment and passion to develop the nurse-delivered service
    • We have an excellent team of 8 Consultant Colorectal Surgeons and 3 Colorectal Nurses.The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides acute and specialist services from two sites to a local population of 350,000.
