Senior Transport Planner - £32K - General HaulageSenior Transport Planner required for a leading UK Road Haulage company based in SomersetAs an experienced Senior Transport Planner you will have sound geographical knowledge and experience planning General Haulage and Backloads. Sound geographical knowledge and experience of routing vehicles is essential.General Haulage experience ESSENTIALPackage:£28K - £32K, Company phone, Company bonus, 28 days holiday, Pension, Free ParkingThe Role:The Senior Transport Planner will be responsible for planning outward and backward loads for 100+ General Haulage vehicles.Manage the fleet and allocated budget for the proposed orderReport to the Transport Manager the absence from work of drivers and staff.Direct drivers for loading and unloading of consignments, goods and means of transportRespect the law on road traffic and the traffic of goodsCommunicating with drivers, subcontractors, managers & key personnel Negotiating contracts to reduce costs and achieve maximum efficiency.Providing accurate routing information to ensure that delivery times and locations are coordinated.Accurately calculating supply costs in relation to each movement or transaction.Obtaining quotes for transportation and also making cost comparisons.Establish relationships with clients in pursuit of sustainable business relationshipsEnsuring compliance with all current legislation and regulation You must have experienced in the following :General haulage.UK Distribution.BackloadsRoad haulage industry.Driving regulations for HGV , Working Time Directive, Driving Hours etc.Experience of Route Planning & SchedulingExperience of Transport Management systems Excellent Communication SkillsWR Transport & Logistics are the #1 recruitment partner for transport jobs and logistics jobs.
