Job Description

Graduate Structural Engineer - Required for our client based in the outskirts of Highbridge Somerset. The Graduate Structural Engineer will be working in part of an engineering team creating Steel Structures and will begiven the opportunity to learn all sides of the business, including engineering, fabrication and site management, project management and estimating.The Graduate Structural Engineer will be degree qualified within civil or Structural Engineering with a desire to learn and make their mark on a company. The candidate will have AutoCAD experience and ideally, some Tekla experience would be advantageous.Graduate Structural Engineer Position Overview

  • Steel connection design
  • Frame analysis of steel frame in the temporary state
  • Value engineering of current steel frame designs
  • Frame design for tendering/estimating
  • Streamlining designs to suit unique demands of each project
  • Working alongside and checking work with other Engineers including Graduate Engineers
  • Liaising with all internal departments (Drawing Office, Fabrication, Erection, etc.)
  • Liaising with all members of design team (Engineer, Architect, etc.)
Graduate Structural Engineer Position Requirements
  • Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Understanding of structural principles (experience of frame design/connection design software advantageous)
  • AutoCAD experience and Tekla experience would be advantageous
  • Good Good communication will be essential with drawings
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking and strategic skills
  • Good standards of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good computer skills
  • Works well on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Punctual and reliable
