Job Description

Paying up to £28,000 + Benefits - Based in Heywood in North Manchester, our client is an established engineering firm that offers a great working environment. Due to continued growth during 2023, they are looking for an experienced PurchaseLedger Clerk to join their finance team. This is a permanent job opportunity that will be office based. The team work a 40-hour week with a flexible start time from 7.30am.THE JOBReporting directly to the Financial Controller, as Purchase Ledger Clerk your responsibilities will include:

  • Matching, batching, and coding all purchase invoices
  • Processing credit notes
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Resolving supplier queries over the telephone and via email
  • Sending remittances to suppliers
  • Confirming bank details over the telephone
  • Ensuring invoices are processed ready for weekly/fortnightly payment runs
  • Account reconciliation
THE PERSONThis Purchase Ledger Clerk job will suit a highly experienced and loyal Purchase Ledger Clerk that is looking to join a friendly, local team in Heywood. This role does not offer any further professional development; however, you will receive ongoing supportfrom your immediate manager and the senior leadership team.Other experience required includes:
  • Experience of managing a mailbox that receives 75-150 emails per day
  • A good understanding of accounting and double entry bookkeeping
  • Capable of working autonomously and supporting other team members
  • The ability to hit the ground running
  • Communicates well with all levels of peers
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Works will under pressure and to deadlines
  • Attention to detail
Desirable experience includes:
  • SAP system knowledge
  • Manufacturing/Engineering industry experience
  • Experience of assisting during a financial Audit
