Job Description

Are you looking for a rewarding and challenging career in a well-established businessDo you have experience in bookkeeping and accounting If so, you might be the perfect fit for our client.My client is based in Southminster and is recruiting for a Bookkeeper/Assistant Accountant to join their team full-time permanently.This is an office-based role, Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm, in a beautiful town in Essex with a rich history and a friendly community.As the Assistant accountant, you will be responsible for:

  • Processing sales invoices and maintaining sales ledger.
  • Processing and maintaining purchase ledger.
  • Producing BACS Payments
  • Credit Control, including chasing overdue invoices, running credit checks/reports/ setting credit limits.
  • Monthly reconciliations
  • Updating stock spreadsheet
  • Preparing accounts up to trial balance
  • VAT Returns
  • You will be using SAGE 200 software, so previous experience with this system is desirable but not essential.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • AAT qualification or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
