Our culture is inclusive and collaborative, and we work with pride and respect.Key Responsibilities:The key responsibilities of a Lead Fibre Network Designer include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the External Network Planning and Design team by managing design contractors, validating designs out in the field.
  • Assisting in developing in-house systems and taking a lead in training junior members in the team.
  • You must be able to undertake site surveys and liaise with Network Planners and the Head of Design along with assisting the construction and build teams with design queries and quality assurance.
The CompanyMS3 is a fibre network operator based in the Kingston-Upon-Hull area with plans to pass over 500,000 homes and businesses with full fibre. As a wholesale-only provider, MS3 will enable its existing and future ISP clients to provide up to 10Gb connectionsto end-customers, building on their existing fibre ring through Hull and to more than 30 other locations in the region.The Benefits

The PersonThe key skills and qualities of a Lead Fibre Network Designer are:
  • Required Fibre Network Design: 2 years
  • Fibre Network Design: 2 years (required)
  • A55s: 1 year (required)
  • Openreach PIA: 2 years (required)
  • A team player, happy to take on responsibility and perform in an agile working environment.
  • Able to maintain and lead relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assessment of CAPEX and OPEX costs, making financial decisions to keep the design and build process moving as smoothly as possible in line with the businesses needs and criteria.
  • Self-sufficient with the ability to work without direct supervision in terms of planning and prioritising your activities.
  • Information Technology proficiency and experience is crucial, along with the confident usage of mobile phones and applications.
  • Ability to undertake design walkouts for verification and acceptance.
  • Understanding of splicing methodologies, matrixes and fibre troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of civils, avoidance practices and methodologies (desilting, overlays, A55s TRR practices).
  • Planning in Openreach PIA and knowledge of OR engineering principles, rules and restrictions.
  • Knowledge of CDM and Health and Safety principles including the NRASWA.
  • Strong personal track record of achieving and delivering.
  • Driving Licence required.
