This is an opportunity for a safety expert to join this market leader as Head of Health and Safety, supporting and developing the safety journey as their operations continue to grow.The Head of Health and Safety will take on the overall accountability for safe operations across the company, you will be experienced working within manufacturing operations and be passionate about your craft.As Head of Health & Safety, you will collaborate across departments and drive cultural safety to the heart of operations, the company is experiencing consistent growth and expansion so you will align H&S considerations with the overall site and departmentalgoals.You will be a capable leader and change manager and demonstrate a passion for your work.Some of the responsibilities of the Head of Health & Safety:* Create, develop and implement the ongoing Safety strategy across the site* Development and management of ISO accreditations including associated management systems for ISO45001* Set out and communicate appropriate KPIs and measurements* Take ownership of site safety policy, work with departments to drive positive cultural behaviours to the heart of their culture.* Develop and drive the delivery of a digital transformation of safety within the business* Review and advise on improvements to existing policy.* Act as the point of contact for queries relating to safety operations, and legislation - advising leadership on considerations as necessary.* Drive auditing activity to identify and recommend appropriate changes to process or procedures as necessary.* Drive increased visibility for safe operations and performance against standards and KPIs* Proactively promote OHS and wellbeing within the business.* Carry out assessments on new processes and recommend ways to reduce risk* Manage external body relationships with regards Safety* Represent the safety function on major projects and improvement initiatives and ensure appropriate representation in decision making.The Candidate The Ideal candidate will have* Preferably degree level or chartered NEBOSH, or IOSH qualifications* Proven experience at senior level leading and setting strategy for Safety* Able to take a hands on approach to your work in delivering the safety journey* Experience working in a manufacturing environment and supporting growing operations embed safety as part of their ongoing success* Experience in supporting culture development initiatives in relation to safety and a passion for your work* Previous experience working to embed safety culture and process across all business functions beyond manufacturing.* Experience driving cohesive strategy across department and multi-site operations* Ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels to drive initiatives* Strong experience of Auditing, risk assessments, site inspections, report writing etcThe CompanyThe business has a superb culture and ethos to their work, they offer a truly collaborative environment and genuine long term engagement opportunities within their operations.
