Job Description

Goldman & Fine Group Ltd are looking to recruit a Service Team Teader for one of our Prestige Clients in the Hertford areaJOB DESCRIPTIONSERVICE TEAM MANAGERKEY PURPOSE OF THE JOBTo be responsible for the supervision of a workshop team on a day-to-day basis to maximise workshop profitability and exceed customer expectations. Key responsibilities are:

  • To review assigned jobs on the day prior to their appointment checking that all parts are ordered and the customer is called to introduce self and confirm the appointment and if there is any additional work required
  • To monitor progress of jobs and supervise the flow of work for the team, allocating work as required and maximising the use of available resources
  • To liaise effectively with customers in a friendly & professional manner and to take responsibility for their vehicle and all updates to the customer during it’s time at the Retailer
  • To advise customers why additional work is required and to ensure that any additional work is properly authorised and processed according to company procedures and that work is completed to schedule and to the expected standard
  • To ensure prices quoted and invoicing is accurate
  • To ensure that Vehicle Health Checks are carried out on every vehicle and Star View videos are sent to all customers
  • To ensure that vehicles are clean and properly handed over to customers with an explanation of work carried out and costs, advising of any future requirements
  • To ensure that warranty and goodwill is given strictly in accordance with MBUK rules and regulations
  • To ensure courtesy car management process is adhered to
  • To manage the co-ordination of collection and delivery, as required
  • To follow company guidelines for cash handling/payment transactions
  • To monitor all assigned WIPs to ensure fully invoiced in a timely manner, addressing any issues that are preventing this from happening and raising with Service Manager
  • To handle customer complaints in a professional manner
    • SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE JOB
  • Minimum of 5 years experience within a dealership Aftersales environment, including 2 years in a customer facing position
  • Good fundamental knowledge of automobile technology, including the ability to recognise and name all major components
  • Ability to estimate accurate times for diagnosis and repair
  • Ability to advise on condition of safety related parts, i.e. tyres, brakes, wiper blades
  • Good basic administration knowledge and skills
  • Ability to handle pressure without it affecting working relationships and effectiveness
  • Possession of a calm and even temperament
  • Possession of strong self-organisational skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally both face-to-face and via telephone
  • Ability to convey information accurately between source and third party
  • Demonstrate man management skills to a minimum of supervisory level
  • Demonstrate an understanding of targets and the measures needed to achieve them
