Job Description

Job Purpose Interserve are recruiting for a Business Insight Analyst to take responsibility for the provision of reporting, analytics and converting raw data into actionable insights. Supporting the team’s analysis service through the provision of both regular and bespoke reporting the candidate will also assist the Head of Insight & Information on complex data analysis projects. The candidate will demonstrate excellent presentation skills to enable complex analytics to be understood and acted upon by a variety of audiences. The key purpose of this role will be to manage Timegate Insights, a reporting module that supports our Time and Attendance system. This will involve an understanding of SQL.We are offering a competitive salary with 25 days holidays plus pension. The role is working Monday to Friday (between the hours of 8am-5pm). We also offer smart working and there will be some travel required with this role. Responsibilities

  • Support the production and distribution of timely, accurate and fit for purpose insight reporting on a daily, weekly, monthly and ad hoc basis.
  • Manage the build and development of reports to support payroll, time and attendance, holiday accrual and tracking. Ensure they meet with requirements and operational excellence standards.
  • Support the wider business with data governance around time and attendance data by providing relevant reports and dashboards.
  • Investigate and resolve any data issues that arise, monitor the quality and accuracy of data to meet reporting requirements whilst ensuring data integrity.
  • Ensure all reports align to the business strategy and deliver useable and actionable insights.
  • Review, amend and create reporting procedures and processes ensuring all are robust, efficient and accurately documented whilst pro-actively seeking to improve these on an ongoing basis.
  • Manage own workload to ensure deadlines are met and critical requests are prioritised.
  • Share knowledge, technical expertise and ideas with colleagues within the team and the wider business.
  • Interact and build relationships with stakeholders to provide appropriate insight based on the reports and recommendations to improve reporting processes.
  • Support Team Leaders and Head of Insight & information with any ad hoc requests.
  • Knowledge Skills & Experience
  • Competent user of Excel, with ability to manipulate data from different sources into a usable format using formulas, pivot tables and chart tools.
  • VBA skills (desirable but not essential)
  • Understanding of SQL constructs and development.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases
  • High degree of numeracy- Advanced knowledge of Excel, and ability to handle large data sets
  • Effective oral and written communication skills that enable personal impact with senior-level decision makers
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines and prioritise effectively.
  • Strong customer experience focus with an ability to utilise reporting capability of systems to provide added value to stakeholders.
  • Ability to interpret/analyse data and present information to all levels in a format which can be easily understood.
  • Ability to use own initiative– being proactive as well as reactive.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and confidence to drive accuracy and governance of data.
