Job Description

Job PurposeWe have an exciting opportunity for an SC clearance level- IT Engineer to join our IT Team working on a major upcoming project based at our Rotherham site in South Yorkshire.To be able to deliver this project we require resources that will support approximately 500 end usersThis will include any associated IT infrastructure, applications, security and administration.Support duties

  • Windows 10 troubleshooting and deployment from image
  • Windows Server 2016 - Active directory basics (resetting passwords, user permissions).
  • Hardware - Desktop PC diagnostics and physical patching of network cables
  • Previous experience using a helpdesk ticketing system
  • Provide technical support and guidance to Operators and staff. Working closely with US-based engineering teams to answer technical questions or resolve issues with server performance and access
  • Expected to conduct system maintenance activities to include, but not limited to reviewing error logs, operator-reported errors, apply software/security software maintenance to include apply updates to the Software/system baseline
  • Expected in addition to maintaining the system/software, server, and services to monitor performance to reduce interruptions and server crashes
  • Create System Backups. Perform system backups according to documented procedures/checks-lists. Verification of back up success is included
  • Basic network troubleshooting (the ability to test network connectivity)
    • Key Competencies
  • A minimum of two years experience - including infrastructure - in an IT support role and can clearly demonstrate working knowledge of the above
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload in a changing environment
  • Work independently with reduced supervision
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Work well under pressure
    • Desirable Skills:
  • Any database experience (query data using SQL)
  • Previous use of event logging tools and/or workflows to identify system issues
  • Antivirus management - Symantec
  • Exposure to IT asset management systems
  • Peripherals - Image scanners, Barcode scanners and printers
    • Additional InformationThe positions will require the successful candidate to hold and evidence current and valid Security Check (SC) clearanceThe positions will involve working either 6am to 2pm, 4pm to midnight or 11pm to 7am, Monday to Friday. The successful candidates will have a fixed shift, not rotational.
