Its a highly rewarding role where your skills can make a huge differenceas you help us create brighter futures.The roleAs part of our dedicated team, youll provide specialist psychological support for our pupils and residents. The first step is to carry out expert assessments, using information from a variety of sources and assessment tools. Youll then create plans forspecialist psychological interventions. This may be for an individual, group, care staff or families. Using evidence-based practice, it is up to you to decide what is appropriate and will deliver the best results. The key will be working as part of the teamaround the child and enabling positive outcomes. That means developing programs with the team and families and reporting to placing authorities social services. Therefore, youll need to be empatheticbut also resilient when dealing with young people whomay at times exhibit very challenging behaviour.There is also a strong internal component to this role. Youll be using your experience to support and develop the skills of the wider team, including our Assistant Psychologists and our Support Workers. In addition youll provide training wherever requiredand will develop Witherslack Group policies.Be the Psychologist you always wanted to beHCPC-registered, you have a degree (or equivalent) in Psychology. Youre eligible for graduate BPS membership and have a recognised qualification in Educational or Clinical Psychology. With this background, youll know how to perform high quality psychologicalassessments. To be considered, you must have worked with children with SEMH and/or ASD needs before. Its vital you understand the challenges and share the Witherslack ethos of offering the very highest standards of care.
