Job Description

Are you a qualified Mechanical Technician looking for your next opportunity Our fuel storage operations client is now looking for a Mechanical Technician to join the team based in Garelochhead responsible for conducting routine maintenance tasks.Position: Mechanical TechnicianJob Type: Permanent Location: Garelochhead Salary: Negotiable Dependant on experience The Role:

  • To carry out Routine maintenance of fuel storage plant and equipment, including cleaning, painting, lubricating and undertaking minor mechanical repairs.
  • Fault Finding and repair for depot; including plant and equipment
  • Carry out planned maintenance activities and defect rectification efficiently
  • Prepare the work area for more complex maintenance of depot, systems or components.
  • Utilise diagnostic techniques to identify faults in depot systems and components.
  • Reinstate the work area after completing the maintenance of depot, systems and components.
  • Tank/Separator cleaning
  • Routine maintenance and operation of pumping systems, including coolant checks and visual examinations.
  • Be part of a Rostered "On-Call" Team and willing to undertake Short Notice overtime.
  • Checking and calibrating instruments to make sure they are accurate
  • Carrying out quality inspections
  • Responding immediately to equipment breakdowns
  • Fixing faults or arranging for replacements to be installed
  • Keeping line managers informed of progress
  • Overhauling and replacing parts according to schedule
  • Fit and assembly of mechanical components making use of appropriate machinery/hand tools.
  • Be responsible for the filling out of Job Request Sheets, Planned Maintenance Cards
  • Confined space operations to include specialist training.
Requirements for the Role.
  • Recognised Mechanical Craft Apprenticeship or Equivalent - Essential
