Areas of responsibility will include provision of appropriate resourcing solutions (people, equipment and sub-contract resource) to the Fleet Engineering function to meetproject demands by managing a systematic supply and demand process for suitably qualified and experienced labour skills availability. Day to day, you will work in partnership with the Maintenance Team Leader - Trades and provide line management support including administration and application of people practises, policies and processes for the industrial population within Fleet. Ensuringthat all relevant personnel on site are compliant with Babcock people policies, fully trained and competent, and safe to discharge their duties.Ensure that defined business objectives are achieved including productive resource utilisation whilst continually ensuring the highest levels of safety, quality and financial requirements are maintained to ensure maintaining customer satisfaction in linewith current customer contract* Work with the Delivery and Planning teams to ensure suitably qualified Industrial Trades resources are in place to deliver projects, including identifying any resource gaps and developing solutions to overcome these* Involved in recruitment activities to ensure supply and demand of Industrial and Non Industrial resources are identified and recruited as per the demands of Fleet Engineering section* Manage the front-line HR requirements such as absence management, disciplinary and grievance and capability and development in line with our People Policies for areas within your control* Develop a culture of development and support to engage resource within Fleet Engineering, support workforce planning activity to support internal talent succession and attractionEssential experience of the Maintenance Team Leader - People* Previous supervisory or first line management experience gained within an HR, Business or engineering discipline, or proven first line management experience with a people focus* Ability to manage and plan resource forecasts for team of Trades resource, and engage senior stakeholders and produce reports as required to support capacity planning* Experience of carrying out front line HR duties such as capability, absence management, recruitment support, disciplinary and grievance processes - so demonstrable experience of the application of HR policies would be beneficial in this role* Ability to motivate and engage Industrial Trades to improve performance, capability and future professional developmentThis role is based on-site at HMNB Clyde.Qualifications for the Maintenance Team Leader - People* Recognised Degree / Apprenticeship qualified to minimum of SVQ Level 3 (or NVQ and C&G equivalent) or HNC and above in an HR, Business or Engineering discipline with demonstrable experience of application of HR policy in a first line management role* CIPD certification would be beneficial but not essential for this role* ILM3 or equivalent first line management certification would be desirable but not essential for this roleThe successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.Our Benefits* Generous holiday allowance * Matched contribution pension scheme, with life assurance* Employee share scheme * Employee shopping savings portal* Payment of Professional Fees* Reservists in the armed forces receive 10 days special paid leave * Holiday Trading is a benefit that allows the majority of employees to buy additional leave or to sell up to one working week of annual leave from their annual entitlement* Be Kind Day enables employees to take one working days paid leave a year (or equivalent hours) to undertake volunteering work with their chosen organisation or registered charityBabcock InternationalFor over 130 years Babcock International have helped to defend nations, protect communities and build a better world.
