Job Description

The starting salary for this role is £11.69 per hour.Could you help support the Senior Coroner deliver their judicial duties in a role where no two days are the sameWe are recruiting for multiple Bank Coroners Support & Delivery Officers to a fast paced and diverse role. These people will support the Coroners Service during busy times of year, particularly over the winter.As a Bank Coroners Support & Delivery Officer you will play a key role in the delivering the effective running of the Coroners Court as well as supporting Coroners Officers in obtaining information critical to cases they are managing.Your excellent customer service and communication skills will tie in with your ability to relate to people from backgrounds reflecting the diversity of the people who live and work in Surrey. You will play a key role in helping explain the Coronial processto people and signpost them to other organisations if they need bereavement or emotional support.We are looking for people who care about their community and feel they can make a difference to the lives of people who have lost family members, loved ones or friends. This role requires being able to deliver the legal duties required compassionately, whilstbeing personally emotionally resilient when dealing with what may be difficult or traumatic situations.We believe this is a hugely rewarding role that is of benefit to the residents of Surrey.Weare looking forsomeone who has/is:

  • Excellent attention to detail and be able to follow define processes whilst maintaining a high degree of accuracy
  • Experience of providing high levels of customer care and professionalism to members of the public
  • The ability to prioritise their work effectively and work independently to meet deadlines
  • Excellent IT skills and be able to follow defined processes in a timely manner.
This role requires close working with hospital mortuaries and funeral directors, ensuring the accurate identification of the deceased and that they are treated with dignity and respect.
