Job Description

A building specialist providing design, consultancy and compliancy services to other consultants and end users, they are seeking a passionate Building Physics Engineer to join their Leeds team.They have an ethos of training, professionalism and sustainability; values which are aligned to the work that carry out and their team. Your role will see you:

  • producing SBEM and SAP calculations
  • carrying out Breeam Assessments (training will be provided)
  • daylight and thermal modelling (using to TM52, TM54 and TM59)
  • overheating assessments
  • producing sustainability reports and energy statements
This Building Physics Engineer post has a broad scope and they recognise that it is unlikely you will have all these skills from day one. As such, they will have to provide training to support you and build upon your core knowledge. This expertise could well have been obtained at university, or via on the job training, and should include:
  • use of SAP (ideally FSAP) software
  • use of Design Builder or IES software
  • knowledge of UK building regs and renewable systems
  • knowledge of and a passion for the built environment
You should also have any degree in a related field such as building physics, building services, sustainability or Architecture; the crucial thing is that you can demonstrate an interest in this type of work. You should also be well located to work in eithertheir north Leeds office, or their south Leeds office that will give you easy access should you be more Wakefield based.The package with this Building Physics Engineer post includes a company bonus scheme, 25 days holiday, company pension and a training package tailored to you and your objectives.
