Job Description

Our client, based in Somerset, is currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor on a temporarycontract for three months. Our client are one of the largest housing associations in the South West, and are looking to add to their growing team.The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis. The hourly rate is negotiable based on experience for this position.The ideal candidate will have Social Housing experience, and access to their own vehicle.Duties will include (but not limited to):* Complete pre and post inspections on domestic properties, and provide technical guidance where appropriate on disrepair, dilapidations and defects* Produce specifications of work for remedial works* Provide advice to colleagues on legislation including the party wall act, Fire Safety order and ensure compliance matters are always looked after* Ensure contractors provide excellent value for money and meet pre-agreed targets* Produce regular reports on contractor performance to ensure intervention can be made if necessary* Provide feedback to tenants on ongoing works and handle complaints as necessaryExperience required:• Social Housing experience• Disrepair knowledge and experienceWorking hours:• 37.5 hours per week• Monday - Friday 9am-5pmPlease note that you require recent experience to apply for this role.James Andrews is acting as an employment agency and business in relation to this role.KEYWORDS: Social Housing; Surveyor; HNC; HND; DisrepairAt James Andrews Recruitment Solutions we try to respond to all applications personally, however, due to the high volume of applications this is not always possible.
