Job Description

Our client is a very established and highly successful steel component manufacturer and Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Technical Sales Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for new business development activities throughout South East England.The Role:Reporting to the Sales Director you will be responsible for generating new business and basic account management activities.Primary focus will be on selling steel sections, purlins, modular fabrication to the construction sector. Duties will include but is not limited to the following;

  • Carry out prospecting work including, emails, telesales , exhibitions, marketing etc etc required to generate new business opportunities.
  • Undertake site surveys and produce drawings as required for quotations
  • Present solutions and sales proposals to customers
  • Process incoming sales enquiries and respond in a timely manner
  • Liaise with all relevant internal / external parties as necessary to ensure sales targets are achieved
  • Maintain accurate information and sales reports on CRM
Candidate:You will be an experienced sales or technical sales engineer with at least 5 years experience in selling metal components to the construction industry.Applicants with previous experience in selling modular fabrications, mezzanine floors, roofing sections to the construction sector will have advantage.You will have proven track record in sales success and ideally as a minimum you will hold a recognised engineering qualification e.g. Min NVQ 3, HNC/HND in mechanical engineering.You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills.Hours of work:Monday to Friday 40 HoursBenefits:Excellent basic salary negotiable £50K +Bonus Company car28 days annual leave (increasing to 33 days)Pension
