Job Description

Product Manager / Commercial Product Owner (Role involves Product Management, Sales, NPD, Product Marketing and Product TrainingA leading global manufacturer, innovator and distributor that offers a complete portfolio of ophthalmic diagnostic & surgical equipment, including; slit lamps, biometers, perimeters, OCT devices, lasers, medical simulators, and microscopes. Main Job Purpose:To own and drive the general diagnostic range of products for manufacture and ensure thatproducts support the Companys overall strategy, goals and targets. Implementation of tacticalbusiness plan for the general diagnostic range. Secure and build positive long-term relations with allcustomer groups to secure short-, medium- and long-term business. Attend exhibitions and seminars withthe aim to benefit the business. Assist the Sales, CEaT, Marketing and Service teams in providing iinformation, support and knowledge. Provide continuous training and support to external customers andinternal staff for the defined product portfolio.Main role functions -The role involves the ownership of the diagnostic business including -

Performance Measures
  • Take on the role of product specialist for defined product portfolio.
  • Work alongside the Managing Director to define product strategy and roadmap.
  • Communicate, conceive and develop new and existing products for assigned product range.
  • Work with the Technical Operations Manager to ensure the assigned range of products complies with regulatory and quality specifications.
  • Investigate product potential and saleability.
  • Ensure Sales, CEaT, Marketing and Customer Services teams have all the necessary tools and knowledge to ensure precise and accurate information is passed onto potential and existing customers.
  • Work with all relevant people to manage all products and associated products within the portfolio.
Candidate -With experience in the Life Science, Medical or associated fields candidates will demonstrate
  • An understanding of product quality management and product manufacturing control to minimise associated risks of product failure.
  • Knowledge of business and commercial market.
  • Results orientated.
  • Communicate effectively through written or verbal mediums.
  • Excellent time management and the ability to juggle multiple products and projects.
  • Planning and organising.

  • Detailed product and clinical application knowledge.

  • Good IT skills - diagnostic application S/W, MS Office, AX CRM.

  • Be able to identify and network, develop and maintain key relationships.
