Job Description

Head of Income and ContractingSector: HealthcareLocation: HarlowJob Type: TemporaryDuration of temporary role: 3-4 Months, potentially longerWorking days and hours: Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, 37.5 hours (Flexibility will be required due to the nature of the role)Pay Rate: £42.00 PAYE inclusive - £51.00 UmbrellaBand: 8DJob Summary:

  • Lead the annual contract negotiations with all commissioners on behalf of the Trust
  • Responsible for collating Provider intentions and capturing the latest service developments that the Trust wishes to implement. These should be aligned with HCG plans.
  • Work closely with the Head of Financial Management and the Income team to develop activity and financial plans for each core CCG/NHSE contract and all associate contracts.
  • Produce regular contract activity and financial schedules detailing the performance of each contract against contract plan
  • Responsible for preparing contract income forecasts and ensuring the Trust has appropriate provisions for CCG challenges and penalties
  • Oversee the contract management for all CCG/NHSE Contracts ensuring that all Commissioner queries and challenges are responded in a timely way
  • Work with clinical leads, service managers and the Head of Performance in ensuring that the quality targets are fully embedded within service provision and are appropriately monitored
    • Skills / Experience:
  • Relevant professional qualification / experience - either: CCAB qualified accountant plus significant post-qualification experience, or Relevant legal qualification.
  • In depth experience of NHS Commissioning / finance
  • Evidence of post-qualification CPD
  • Proven track record of successful financial management.
  • Record of significant financial and non-financial achievements at a senior level.
  • Expert in the NHS Standard Contract and National Tariff
  • Senior experience within a large complex organisation.
  • Successful track record of working to a deputy Director / Director
  • Knowledge of the NHSI Regulatory regime.
