Job Description

PrincipalUnity Developer-Greater Manchester - Up to £90k- Hybrid workingBased inWilmslow, Manchester, our client uses one of the worlds most advanced real-time, 3D creation engines, to create the next generation social and gamification platform. By leveraging this technology, they have created stunning visuals and a truly interactiveand immersive user experience.Due to incredible demand and growth, they are scaling up and looking to take on aPrincipalunity Developer.This role will suit someone with a high level of industry experience in Unity (8 years +), and experience of using C# to write clean code.You will be responsible for:

  • Create, debug, maintain and optimise the games engine, editor, and related tools used for the games development.
  • Off er technical solutions, innovate and improve the quality of implementation, performance, and usability of the editor
  • Implement new game features and services in close partnership with the content team of the project and with respect for the players comfort and games performance
  • Improve existing game features based on design requests
  • Develop the components for highly scalable multiplayer games
  • Perform technical R&D and write technical design documents for internal use
  • Advise the broader team on the best technical direction to take to solve product needs in a clean and scalable way
  • Independent and productive communication with the team lead, colleagues and other teams to ensure a smooth daily workflow
You will have:
  • Experience shipping and releasing at least one commercial product or game
  • Minimum 8 years of working experience in 3D game development with Unity
  • Advanced knowledge of the Unity engine
  • In-depth knowledge of C# and how to write clean code with clear intention
  • Availability to work with new APIs and concepts
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical parties
  • Solid debugging and optimisation skills
  • Experience working through the full SDLC of a Unity project
  • In-depth knowledge of using Git SCM and Git LFS with Unity projects
  • Knowledge of multiplayer/online game development practices
  • Ability to reasonably estimate and plan tasks and features
  • Expert understanding of concurrent code
  • Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English
Benefits:
  • Salary: up to £90,000 DOE
