Job Description

Assistant Contracts ManagerLocation: Hampton WickSalary: 50,000 to 60,000Duration: Permanent Hours: TBCIn conjunction with the Contracts Manager, support the management and oversight of all aspects of our clients contract and commercial negotiations, obligations, and implementationKey Responsibilities of an Assistant Contracts Manager Reviewing customer contract terms and conditions to balance risk with our clients commercial objectives. Provide a summary to management of the terms that exceed our clients provision and highlighting any non-standard contract terms. Studying the requirements, duties, and obligations of our client under tenders to ensure alignment with our clients standard provision and operating model. Working on the preparation, submission, and review of tenders. Drafting and reviewing terms for standard forms such as NDAs, MOUs, partnership agreements, and so on. Managing or helping to manage subcontractor and vendor relationships. Assessing commercial aspects of new contractual activity to identify associated risks and benefits. Supporting contract negotiations with customers and suppliers. Analysing both new and existing contracts with customers, suppliers, and partners to ensure that the content is commercially and legally sound and maximises commercial benefits to the business. Obtaining approval for non-standard terms. Developing, delivering, and maintaining effective commercial methods, processes, and operational procedures to ensure contracts are managed in line with internal and external compliance standards, including ISO, GDPR and other applicable laws. Ensure legal documents move smoothly and quickly from drafting/receipt, through collaboration and negotiation, to signature. Monitoring the implementation and performance of signed contracts. Preparing contracts for suppliers/contract manufacturers. Ensuring signed contracts, contract amendments and other contractual and legal documents are stored securely in One DriveEssential A bachelors degree in Law, Business Management or Finance. Minimum of 3 years relevant experience. Experience of working in a hands-on contract management, legal, commercial management, or procurement role. Experience of managing customer and supplier contract negotiations to a successful close. The ability to use initiative and self-organise. Excellent organisational skills to plan and use people and resources to ensure deadlines are met. Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form. Ability to build effective working relationships with external customers and with internal business functions, particularly Sales and Business Development. Exceptional time management skills and strong attention to detail.Desirable IACCM certified practitioner or membership of IACCM. CIPS or MCIPS qualifications. Knowledge or experience of working in the retail sector.
