Job Vacancy - Project Manager / Quantity SurveyorDo you want to work in an exciting and challenging role that facilitates earthwork solutions for the construction industry across disciplines such as core earthworks, reinstatement, residential, commercial, and industrial project ground preparations Weneed a sharp, hardworking individual in the contracting division to ultimately increase commercial dominance in the South-West. The ideal candidate will have Tier 1 experience in a large national or international construction company and have a fundamentalunderstanding of project delivery and dealing with subcontractors. Quantity surveying and checking of chargeable items against the project works done and completion of valuations are desired skills.An objective hardworking, can-do attitude is a must. The team can rapidly deploy and quickly effect positive change on client project sites. Overseeing and capturing decisions and cost implications, working with the engineering, transport, and operationalteam is a key aspect. The contracting division has grown three-fold in the last year and seeks to expand further with your help.With time, training, and experience, the team will help mold the individual to be the complete earthmoving solution for our clients and benefit themselves in the process.Objective roles and responsibilities:• Project Management of a £2M contract with a Tier 1 Construction Company • Taking lead/support role on other contracts (subject to experience) • Providing feedback to department heads in preparation of large quotes and tenders (up to ~£5M) • Undertakinga detailed review of drawings, specifications, and other job parameters. • Contract management from tender negotiations stage, stakeholder liaison/monthly meetings • Help plan works with one eye on site and another on the contract, program, and bill of quants.• Help build the supplier base • Help expand the client base for business growth • Getting feedback on production rates and processes from site for internal department calibrations • Understanding risk in various forms and can comprehend ways to minimize thisagainst project contractual stipulations • Ensuring client (and other stakeholders) notifications are submitted in a timely manner during project changes • Diligent record-keeping of documentation. • Bringing risk situations to the attention of management• Understanding and identification of when variations or deviations to works are requested. Subsequent capture, presentation, and obtaining CE agreement from the client, including risk capture • Liaising with the transport and operation teams when required• Proficient use of Project Management SoftwareQualifications & Experience:• Tier 1 experience • Relevant HNC or degree in project management quantity surveying or similar • At least 5 years post-graduation experience• Subcontracting/contracting experience in groundworks, civil engineering, or earthworks desired. Other experience will be considered where opportunity exists • Understanding of NEC and other formats of legal subcontractsNecessary Skills:• Project Management Software • Numerical/Analytical/Manipulation of data/Spreadsheets • Understanding drawings • Ability to factor practical considerations of site work, plant, and haulage • Drivers license • AutoCAD/DWG True View (a bonus, not essential)
