Job Description

Coming to an end of your booking and looking for work next term as a teaching assistantOr looking for a new roleReed Further Education are currently registering teaching assistants who are looking for work for next academic term.We are working with a college based in the Hall Green area. The roles are temporary ongoing during term times and hours can be part-time and full-time depending on availability at the college.Roles will be working through Reed FE, so we will be required to do employment checks including an enhanced DBS check.Job Title: Teaching AssistantPosition: Part-Time/Full-TimeRole type: Temporary OngoingLocation: Hall Green, Birmingham, West MidlandsRate: £12.06 p/h including holiday paySuccessful Teaching Assistants will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum Level 2 qualification as a Teaching Assistant - desirable
  • Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English & Maths
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour
  • Experience working with adults/teenagers or children with special education needs
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills
  • Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Reed Compliance
Responsibilities:
  • To provide one-to-one support and supervision of students with special education needs/learning difficulties and disabilities within the classroom
  • To encourage the learners to excel to reach their full academic potential
  • To support learners with their literacy and numeracy
  • To create, monitor and review SMART targets
  • To manage challenging behaviour, where necessary
  • To maintain accurate records of learners’ progress
