Coming to an end of your booking and looking for work next term as a teaching assistantOr looking for a new roleReed Further Education are currently registering teaching assistants who are looking for work for next academic term.We are working with a college based in the Hall Green area. The roles are temporary ongoing during term times and hours can be part-time and full-time depending on availability at the college.Roles will be working through Reed FE, so we will be required to do employment checks including an enhanced DBS check.Job Title: Teaching AssistantPosition: Part-Time/Full-TimeRole type: Temporary OngoingLocation: Hall Green, Birmingham, West MidlandsRate: £12.06 p/h including holiday paySuccessful Teaching Assistants will have the following skills and qualifications:

Minimum Level 2 qualification as a Teaching Assistant - desirable
Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English & Maths
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to manage challenging behaviour
Experience working with adults/teenagers or children with special education needs
Excellent administrative and organisational skills
Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Reed Compliance

Responsibilities:

To provide one-to-one support and supervision of students with special education needs/learning difficulties and disabilities within the classroom
To encourage the learners to excel to reach their full academic potential
To support learners with their literacy and numeracy
To create, monitor and review SMART targets
To manage challenging behaviour, where necessary
To maintain accurate records of learners’ progress
