Senior Accountant Job VacancyAre you an experienced and accomplished Senior Accountant seeking a new opportunity in Halesowen Our client, a well-established and reputable firm of independent accountants, is currently looking to expand their general accounting and tax focused team.We are delighted to be facilitating their search for an exceptional Senior Accountant in Halesowen to join their ranks.You’ll be ACCA or ACA qualified and you may be a Semi Senior ready to progress to the next level in your career, a Senior Accountant looking for a new role, or potentially an experienced generalist accountant with management skills who may be more appropriatefor an Assistant Manager role, our client is open to meeting all!We’re seeking a personable and technically capable professional who has enjoyed a stable career to date. You’ll be comfortable overseeing all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and the preparation and submissionof financial statements, statutory accountants and tax computations.The successful candidate will supervise and mentor junior members of the team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture as well as acting in a pivotal supporting role for Managers and the Senior Leadership team.If you’d like to find out more about this role, contact our team in absolute confidence today.Job Purpose

  • Plan, prepare, and review accounts for a diverse and significant client portfolio.
  • Liaise directly with clients, sending final accounts, proactively handing queries, and building trusted relationships.
  • Forecast and manage budgets, oversee workflow, and mentor junior staff with training and knowledge sharing.
  • Prepare personal and corporation tax computations, including tax returns, tax liabilities, and providing trusted advisory.
  • Work closely with senior team members, ensuring expectations, deadlines, and budgets are being met.
  • Promote and strive for customer service excellence and set an example to junior staff as a hands-on and proactive Senior Accountant.

Job Requirements
  • ACCA or ACA qualified with a minimum of 3 years experience within practice.
  • Qualified by experience would also be considered.
  • A proven track record of working with clients within practice.
  • Experienced across annual accounts and management accounts.
  • Working knowledge of accounting software, including Sage, QuickBooks and Xero.
  • Adept at using Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and Word.
  • Strong communication and advisory skills.
  • Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage a team’s workflow.
  • A team player able to bring out the best in others.
  • Confidently mentor junior team members, in a positive and constructive manner.
