Job Description

We are currently recruiting a confident, proven Sales Manager to overseeing customer accounts in the UK and overseas for a large, Engineering company based near BirminghamThe primary function of the Sales Manager is to prepare costings and proposals to support bidding work undertaken by the company. The role will involve provision of complex engineering solutions to customers, working as part of a busy sales team to tightdeadlines, In time becoming an expert in specific products accumulating expert knowledge in this area over timeThe right candidate will be responsible for maximising the sales opportunities for all the Companys Products through effective liaison with customers and prospective customers, providing clear and coherent quotations along with all necessary supportingbid documentation. They will work to the company standards and within the company processes as laid out.Increase the Companys sales and profitability (gross margin) consistent with good business practice and the Companys business objectives.Achievement of an allocated annual sales budget and be required to report on that budget from time to time as required.Main Responsibilities

  • Work in a logical and professional manner giving clear objective support to the Sales Director.
  • Providing a key support role in maintaining and expanding the sale of the Companys Products into all sectors of the LNG, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Industrial, Utilities and associated Industries.
  • Taking ownership of key customer accounts in the Uk and overseas
  • Preparation of quotes and major tenders including responsibility for creation and maintenance of a robust costing file in Microsoft Excel, AX or other system as required. Receive sales enquiries and ensure onward transmission and quote generation as perthe enquiry handling process.
  • Follow-up quotations with customers after submission and provide feedback as necessary to the business enabling effective forecasting of sales pipeline opportunities
  • Review and interpretation of customer specifications, applying the relevant components to the project including piping specification and international standards as required
  • Obtaining customer feedback including quotation followup, answering of technical questions, and attending bid clarification meetings where required
  • Obtaining materials prices and services required for the manufacture of Filter Vessels and their sub-components
  • Compilation of detailed technical and commercial documents required for the manufacture of Filter Vessels and their sub-components
  • Conversion of quotation to order, including producing commercial and technical order handover packs manufacturing schedule & production reports at order placement
  • Assist as requested other sales personnel and departments according to the needs of the business.
  • Supporting all other team members
  • work in accordance with the Companys standard operating procedures complying with our requirements to meet and exceed the international quality standard BS EN ISO 9001:2015.
The right candidate
  • Ideally come from a similar working background
  • HND / BSC Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience of working with CAD software / Autodesk Inventor (preferred)
  • Experience of CFD (ANSYS or equivalent)
  • Experience of FEA Autodesk simulation Mechanical or other FEA software
  • Hold solid proven sales experience
  • Be happy with worldwide travel
  • Strong relationship management skills
Salary £45,000 to £50,000 plus other company benefits
