Job Description

A sector renowned manufacturing company is seeking a Refrigeration Design Engineer to join their site in the South Birmingham area. As a Refrigeration Design Engineer you will work with the Design and Development Engineers in the UK and the Americas to developnew and improved designs for the product range. Hands on experience with refrigeration equipment and brazing is required.Knowledge and experience of hermetically sealed hydrocarbon and hydrofluorocarbon refrigeration systems is essential, any involvement with equipment dispensing fluid products would be advantageous.Benefits:

  • c£40 - £45k per annum
  • Mon to Thus 8am5pm and Fri 8am1pm
  • 23 Days + BH

Key responsibilities of Refrigeration Design Engineer:
  • Development of new concepts in liquid cooling and dispense systems
  • Take new products through process from development to manufacture
  • Conduct and report on performance testing of products to relevant standards
  • Work with the Procurement team on cost reductions and alternative component specs
  • Be aware of new applications and alternative technologies
  • Provide Technical support to manufacturing teams
  • Support the quality dept with resolving technical issues and customer complaints
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding component specification and selections
Skills and qualifications required :
  • Ideally Degree, HNC, HND quals in relevant subjects suich as regreration / electrics.
  • 3D CAD skills and experience
  • Fluid dynamics experience
  • Hands-on experience with hydrocarbon and hydrofluorocarbon refrigeration systems
  • Manual torch brazing & jointing of copper pipework
  • Application of electrical engineering in electrical equipment
  • Familiarity of working with EU Directives and UK Statutory Instruments
  • Ideally a few years experience with a manufacturer of refrigerated equipment
