Job description The Housing Disrepair Case Worker is responsible for the management of cases of disrepair brought against the Council by tenants solicitors and for representing the Council both at Court and at Housing Disrepair Arbitration Panels.They will manage cases from initiation to closure and provide a point of contact for claimants, ensuring that rehousing and other appropriate support is provided during the works process.1. To ensure that duties are carried out in accordance with the Councils policies and Code of Conduct, incorporating the principles of valuing diversity.2. To inform, advise and respond to residents and colleagues as individuals as well as through representation at Committees and other public forums, building a close working relationship with your Area Panel.3. To take a proactive role, taking personal ownership and responsibility for the delivery of excellent customer services within your area; working closely with Housing and Asset Management colleagues in particular, to provide a seamless service.4. To support and develop the visions and values of the Housing Directorate.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES1. To be responsible for the day-to-day management of cases of disrepair brought against the Council by tenants solicitors and for representing the Council at Court, Housing Disrepair Arbitration Panels, and in a variety of internal and external forums.Ensuring that the cases of disrepair are consistently well managed through to a satisfactory conclusion.2. To be responsible for the management of a housing disrepair caseload, ensuring that damages and legal costs claims are minimised and that statutory repairs are carried out expeditiously and that claims are closed as quickly as possible. To routinely assessliability, quantum and ensure damages and costs are paid.3. To establish sound working relationships with relevant Council departments including Housing Benefits, Rehousing, Property Services, Neighbourhood Offices and other partners to ensure the effective management of disrepair claims.Job Types: Full-time, Temp to permContract length: 8 monthsSalary: From £21.00 per hourExperience:
