* Finance Manager, Guilford, £40,000The role is an integral part of the EMEA Finance department, with specific focus on management accounting, statutory accounting, and tax compliance in the Nordics countries and the Netherlands.The role also adds value to the combined Finance and GBO department by providing sub-regional analysis of actual data versus forecasts and offering business insights to inform financial planning.Responsibilities:With respect to the c.8 legal entities/branches within scope:* End-to-end responsibility for monthly US-GAAP management accounting* Ensure VAT and corporate tax compliance, working with local/regional advisers* Assist local advisers with statutory accounts preparation, and ensuring successful statutory audits within the relevant filing deadlines* Undertake regional tax planning where appropriate, working with the Global Tax Manager to minimise global tax riskWith respect to other EMEA business units:* Lead projects to establish/dissolve legal entities/branches within the region* Prepare complex region-wide quarterly accounting entities* Work with the other Finance Managers to identify opportunities to standardise finance processes within EMEA in order to improve efficiencyFinancial Planning & Analysis:* Work with North Europe GBO Manager and relevant Project Owners to ensure revenue forecasts are accurate based on revenue recognition rules* Prepare monthly revenue variance analysis during the financial close process, comparing revenue per revenue system (OneSys) to the relevant forecast* Ad-hoc FP&A work expected to increase as the recently merged Finance and GBO department evolves over timePersonal Attributes:* Ambitious, demonstrating a strong desire to learn, develop and progress* A sociable team player who can bond with other members of the department* Ability to manage workload and respond to pinch points within the finance cycle* Analytical thinker who can solve complex problems calmly and logically* Ability to explain finance concepts to non-finance peopleEssential Skills and Experience:* Qualified/part Accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a strong exam record* Strong academic record, ideally with at least a bachelors degree* 3+ years of experience working within an accounting/reporting environment* Experience of working within a strong controls/SOX environment* Comprehensive knowledge of GAAPDesired Skills and Experience:* First time exam passes* Knowledge of US GAAP* Expert MS Excel knowledge, including financial modelling* International tax experience
