Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a confident HR Manager to join a successful, growing business in Guildford. This is a hands-on, generalist role where you will manage HR Operations for the business with a strong emphasis on leading and motivating theteam. This role has 4 direct reports and sits within a wider HR team, reporting into the Head of HR. Strong people management experience is essential. Alongside a competitive salary of up to £55k there are excellent benefits including hybrid working (3 days a week in the office and 2 days a week working from home), a 35 hour week with flexible working hours around core hours of 10am - 4pm, 25 days holidayplus Bank Holidays (also extra days for long service and the option to purchase additional days), pension, life insurance, private healthcare, discretionary bonus and more. The focus of this role is to lead the HR Operations team to deliver a customer-focused, proactive, professional service. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide strong leadership to the team, setting clear objectives and providing feedback
  • Provide support, training and advice to the team, identifying training needs and ensuring ongoing development of skills
  • Support performance management and reward activities
  • First point of contact for the team for any queries, issues and escalations
  • Work closely with Directors, Managers and HR Business Partners to implement HR strategies
  • Oversee and manage the teams workload
  • Check the output of the team including reviewing monthly payroll data, new starter contracts, leavers, changes and additions to benefits etc
  • Support the Head of HR in developing and implementing HR strategies, acting as a positive change champion, supporting change programmes and new strategies
The successful candidate will:
  • Have previous Generalist HR experience
  • Be CIPD qualified
  • Be passionate about delivering an outstanding service
  • Have proven team management and stakeholder management skills
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
